Farewell...

Sunday, the world lost a great man. My Grandfather, Rufus Harris, Sr. passed away after an extended illness. Although I didn't see him that often, the impact that he had on my life has been tremendous. A country boy to the core, my grandfather was a hard worker and had a very tenacious mindset about life. Over the years he had suffered many illnesses that most would have found debilitating, but through it all, he continued to persevere.

As a child, I remember visiting my grandparents and always picking up nuggets of knowledge that have guided me through life. From stories about our family, to learning about farming and cattle, I learned many valuable tools and life lessons from my grandfather. It's interesting how things that I had tucked away in the recesses of my mind, bubble up periodically. I will always cherish the memories that I have of him and am so very thankful that he was my grandfather.

Rufus Harris, Sr., Thank you for just being you & you will always live forever in my heart.

Tweet & Eat

Are you looking for a great place to host an amazing event?? Look no further than Shula's 347 Grill! This hidden gem is located across the street from Lenox Mall inside of the Buckhead Marriott, and was the perfect setting for a recent BFF Tweet & Eat I attended. Of course, I arrived extra early, so I decided to take a quiet moment to myself and enjoy what Shula's is known for, a steak of course!

I decided on a medium rare, Cowboy Ribeye w/ baked potato & French cut green beans. When I tell you, this was the best steak I have every had in LIFE, I am not exaggerating. Real steak lovers know that if the steak is prepared well, you shouldn't need any sauce. This cut of beef was perfection! I washed it all down with an amazing cocktail, and soaked up the tunes that the jazz band opposite me was playing.

As the evening progressed, the BFF's took over the main dining room at Shula's. We enjoyed amazing complimentary hors d'oeuvres and cocktail specials. The staff at Shula's was very attentive and was able to adequately manage our large group of ladies. Because this was a Tweet & Eat, we mingled with out current BFF's and welcomed some new ladies into the group. We also had PR Maven Tori Allen on hand to introduce us to some FAB natural hair products with give-a-ways!

The evening was absolutely amazing. As always I am so proud to see black women interacting with the best of intentions. No drama, no hating, just supporting one another and having a great time. We truly are BFF's in every sense of the word! For more information about the Blog Fab Fashionista's visit our website www.blogfabfashionistas.com and to host an event at Shula's visit www.shulas347atlanta.com/. Until next time, "Be Bold, Be Unique and Be Yourself, but most of all, Make The World Your Personal Runway."

Month at a glance...

Hey guys! I know it's been a while, so rather than try to individually recap everything I have been doing, I decided to share what I did this past month in pictures! I have been a very busy girl, but promise to try to do better to keep you in the know. Thanks for sticking with me and enjoy my "month at a glance" !

See you on the front row!

Kicking off the month and  Curves Fashion Week 2012 w/ my BFF Nikka Shae @bloomingdales Lenox Square! Designing duo The Unique Sisters dressed Nikka & Australian Designer Evie Foster was also on hand to join in the festivities.

Ran into my friends Nikka Shae & Chrystal Jackson (The Thiq Boutique Owner). Ripped the runway with BFF Portia Clyde, and was dressed in SWAK by  Melanie & Angela (@1224boutique Owners).  Gorgeous necklace provided by my designer buddy Rean Fisher (Enjeanious by Rean, owner)

Got my football on at Charisma Lounge for the kick off of the season with Ladies Pigskin Sundays sponored by LPS Consulting PR and Nissan! Had a blast with my BFF's Nikka Shae & Kiwi Durham!
Going CRAZY over the fall/winter 2012 collection by Youtheary Khmer at Twelve 24 Boutique! Ran into my girls Cassandra Mason (Gems N Baubles Owner) & Nicole Clark (Wole' Designs Owner)

Had so much fun with BFF's Kiwi & Nikka while covering the launch of  Nicole Richie for Impulse at Macy's Lenox Square! Insurance Agent to the stars, Katie Harris decided to join in the fun and DJ OMG, totally set the mood. Also made a new friend, Liz from Blondette Style! She is my style sister, we both have a Betsy Johnson Lobster Necklace! :)

Me and the girls, found out the 5 Reasons Men Cheat while covering a heated discussion at Bar One Atlanta! BFF's Nikka, Breck, Dea, SoSo, Lynn & Tosha were on hand to get in on the action! Also, Rasheeda from Love & Hip Hop was a panelist!

Me & BFF's Nikka, Breck, Dea, Portia, Keren, & Lynn supported our sister ChaKiva Felder and joined team Spoiled Diva at the 6th Annual Sickle Cell Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon! Not only were out logos on the back drop, but R&B Crooner Joey Beanz of The Rude Boys was our celebrity team captain! We also ran into the #gorgeous RL from the R&B group Next!

Happy Birthday Breck!!! Me & BFF's Nikka, Keren, Tosha, Lynn & Portia met up at Gekko Sushi & Lounge to celebrate Breck's 28th Birthday. We also ran into some other blogger buddies while noshing on savory bites.
After partying with Breck, BFF's Nikka, Lynn & I met up with SoSo & Cassandra to cover Love & Hip Hop star Momma Dee's Birthday Bash. Angela, co-owner of Twelve 24 Boutique was also on hand, but not pictured above. She provided my dress for the evening! Of course we ran into our FAVE celebrity chef & honorary BFF, Gregory Dulac aka
The Bow Tie Chef

After Recouping from Momma Dee's Party the night before, I met my girl Cassandra at our friend Angela's boutique (Twelve 24 Boutique) to style Biba the Diva of allhiphop.com for the BET Hip Hop Awards. During our style session, I tweeted out a pic of my dress from the night before, there was one left in the store!!

After leaving from Twelve 24, I jetted over to Fashion Style Studio, owned by my BFF Keren Charles.  Had a blast playing with fun baubles from Wendy of Just Jewels 4 U and ran into my BFF's, Kerrie & ChaKiva! I also got to help Keren do a little styling with one of the models for Fro Fashion Week!
Obviously I was living on caffeine that day, because after leaving Fashion Style Studio, I ran down to Studio Couture to cover the book signing for new author Jeremy Mallard's book, Georgia Boy. Had so much fun hanging with my FAVE celeb stylist AJ, and also had the pleasure of Momma Dee and her crew hanging with me in the blogger's booth. I also ran into the always #fresh Tyson, co-owner of Studio Couture and had a great time interviewing Jeremy, the guest of honor. Full book review coming soon!

Taking the advice of blogger buddy Dee-Dee better known as Miss Foodie Fash, I decided to grab a bite with a friend at Food Truck Tuesdays in Smyrna! Can we say #YUM!!!

Finally rounding out this crazy month, I had an amazing time covering the self proclaimed Date Diva, Shay Williams' book release party for her newest book, Value Your Vagina. BFF's Nikka & Dea were on hand to cover as well. We had a great time checking out the latest in adult novelties from Janine, owner of Toy Closet NYC. I had a pleasure of meeting Jack Daniel, counselor & author, who is also looking for a wife!!
