A Whole Lot of Lovely...

It's been a while since I have done an outfit post. I guess I have been in a fashion funk. It feels like I have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear, if that makes since. Well, today I was inspired by an instagram post and decided to remix some of my fave pieces to create this look.

If you have been following me for a while, you already know that I love adding volume to skirts with crinolines. Today I rocked my Lane Bryant faux leather skater skirt with my custom Lavender's Jungle crinoline. I paired these pieces with a Talbots white shirt, Banana Republic sweater and Forever 21 coat. To round out the look, I added my fave Just Fab pumps, Talbots clutch and Cayetano Legacy necklace. To add some texture to my legs, I rocked my plaid Torrid tights.

I almost forgot, one of the best things in this post is my new mug from Chapters Indigo! I received 4 mugs in the mail the other day and will be doing a more focused post on them later in the week. What do you do when you're in a fashion funk? How do you remix your clothes? I hope this has inspired you to dig in your closet and breathe life into your pieces.

See you on the front row!

Lane Bryant Livi Launch Recap

Saturday I had the honor of hosting the the launch of Lane Bryant's newest line at their Town Center Mall store. I have to admit, just before any event I'm about to host I always get a little nervous, but after I walked in, all of those nerves went out of the door. I was greeted by an amazing team that was there to offer any help that I needed. Myself, along with 8 fellow bloggers kicked off the nationwide campaign in various cities just after 2pm and partied until 4. I had so much fun getting to know the team at the store as well as meeting some fabulous followers and customers. Ladies drove from near and far to support this event and for that I am truly grateful.

In addition to giving away some amazing prizes, I am also proud to have had Lane Bryant's CEO Linda Heasley in attendance at my event. How amazing is that?!?! We were able to have some insightful conversations and interactions about the direction of Lane Bryant. All in all I had an amazing day and am still flying high!

Below are a few pics from the event. Stay tuned for my interview with CEO Linda Heasley! Make this year be the one that you make tremendous change in your life.

See you on the front row!

Sharing a laugh with the CEO of Lane Bryant, Linda Heasley! I was so honored to have her attend my event!

Greeting my guests...
This pic is so funny!! I'm trying to round up the last few customers so they can enter the drawing!

I had a blast styling Audrey! We found her some fabulous pieces that she is going to look amazing in!

Lovely drawing winner Faye and I posing for a quick pic. Ironically, when she dropped her name in, we spoke her win into existence with a little song...It's ok to pull Faye! Lol!

Shop Small: Winter Accessories

Since the weather has been so cold here in Georgia the last couple of days, I thought I would kick off my shop small series with 2 of my fave finds this season. First up is a fabulous little brand I found completely by chance called Feeling Moody. While checking out one of my friends' instagram posts, I accidentally clicked on the FoursSquare location tag. When the tag pulled up, a whole stream of pictures popped up and I saw a very fashionable brown girl. Well of course I had to click on her picture and up popped Sarita Moody, a knit accessories designer.

I immediately clicked over to her website was was blown away by what I found. On her page were the most amazing, hand kitted scarves and neck cowls. What I found most appealing was the scale of the Mega Scarf. Being close to 8 feet long the styling possibilities were endless. Because I am plus sized and somewhat tall, most scarves simply aren't long enough to create an interesting aesthetic. I immediately ordered the oatmeal colored one and patiently waited for it to arrive.
Designer, Sarita Moody

How cute is the packaging?!?!?

All bundled up...

Aren't her pieces AMAZING! Finding Sarita's designs proves the power of social media. If it weren't for a slip of the finger, I would have never found out about this creative soul form St. Louis! Stay tuned for more of my fave small business finds over the coming weeks!

See you on the front row!

Not only are you helping to bolster someones dream, but you can also find some amazing, one of a kind pieces that are sure to make you stand out. I'll be giving you the rundown of some of my fave accessory, clothing, vintage, beauty, food and gift vendors! I'll be kicking things off later today so stay tuned!

Wigged Out

With a new year comes the same sold question, what am I going to do with my hair? Do I rock my natural or do I rock a fabulous weave? After taking my weave out last month, I noticed that I definitely needed to do a little better with the care of my natural hair. It was very dry and brittle and was in definite need of a little tlc. In an effort to try to let my hair "breathe" a little, I was left in a bit of a pickle.

Finally I had an epiphany, try out some wigs! If you have been following me on Instagram, you may have been wondering what the heck was going on. One day I would be curly, and then have straight bangs the next day. It's a little nerve wrecking because I'm used to my hair looking a certain way, but I have been having fun experimenting with different looks. Below are some of the wig styles I've rocked of the past month. Which one is your fave? I'm partial to curls, but I did love rocking the bangs. When in doubt, it's ok to WIG OUT!!!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!! I rang in the new year close to home at my fave restaurant Gabe's Downtown. As I have gotten older, going to the biggest parties and getting caught up in all of the festivities just isn't that important to me. 2014 was filled with some of the best moments of my life, but also a lot of personal struggles. After looking back on it all, family & true friends are the things that mean the most to me. I am so grateful to have the support of my friends and family as I journey through this adventure called life. I am optimistic that this year will be AMAZING and that the best parts of 2014 will be the worst parts of 2015.

Now that we've covered all of the mushy stuff, let's get to my outfit deets! My sequined mini & vest are both from Forever 21. Because the skirt was so short, I opted to cover up my top with a jersey turtleneck from Old Navy. Rounding out my look I rocked my FAVE JustFab Hadley pumps & an adorable and appropriate conversation bubble bag from Aldo!  What did you rock on NYE? Tag me on instagram with #EverydayRunway365NYE so I can see all of your fun looks!

See you on the front row!
