Black Roses

Last month in Vegas, I stumbled upon the most adorable boutique at the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace. As soon as I stepped inside of Tatyana Boutique, it felt like I traveled back in time. From wiggle dresses to circle skirts & crinolines, I felt like I was raiding the wardrobe closet on the set of I Love Lucy! Tatyana's Boutique specializes in retro inspired clothing that truly celebrates the curves that make women sexy.

While checking out the clothing, I was expecting just to browse, because not many stores on the strip carry plus size clothing. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up a dress that read size 2x. After digging a little further, I discovered that most pieces went up to a size 4x!! Now don't get too excited, the size chart is also retro inspired with a 4x being a size 16-18. Nevertheless, I picked out several pieces in size 4x to try on. I was super excited to see that most of them fit. Ultimately, I decided on a fabulous circle skirt.

As soon as I saw the Black Roses skirt I knew it had to come home with me. Because I am a #RepeatOffender, I knew that this skirt could be styled for both summer and winter. For my look today, I decided to rock the skirt with my Lavender's Jungle custom crinoline, Old Navy Turtleneck, Cato Houndstooth coat (several years old), and Lane Bryant super opaque tights. To round out the look I added my Just Fab pumps, Alter Ego Clutch and Banana Republic pearl necklace/brooch (3 years old).

What do you think? I am so in love with this skirt and just the vintage style at Tatyana Boutique. There's something about wearing a skirt and a crinoline that makes you want to twirl and kick your heels up. I hope this look inspires you to "Make the world your personal runway"!

See you on the front row-

How to Rock Joggers at Work

A couple of weeks ago, before the weather turned terribly cold, I wanted to rock something a little different at work. Normally, I am not an athletic bottom kind of girl, unless I am working out of course. While redeeming some Torrid Haute Cash, I found a pair of super soft grey joggers. I know that joggers have been on trend for a while, but I wanted to put my spin on things.

The dress code at my office is laid back, but I wanted to create a polished look with my new joggers. To create my ensemble, I decided to pair them with my all time FAVE JC Penney chambray shirt (3 years old) and my black ponte knit & faux leather Lane Bryant tee (sold out online). To round out my look, I rocked my Cayetano Legacy Anna necklace, Betsy Johnson charm bracelet, Arm Candy Crush bag and Torrid sandals.

The fabulous coat I'm wearing was a last minute addition. I had just received it in the mail that day from HSN. It is from the IMAN Platinum Collection and I will be dedicating a full blog post to it very soon!

How did I do? I think I look fashionable, yet still work appropriate. How do you rock your joggers? I'd love to see. Tag me on instagram @everydayrunway with your most stylish look!

See you on the front row!

A Fresh Start

Happy Thursday. I know it's been a while and for that I truly apologize. The past few months have been quite challenging for me both personally and professionally. Although you guys have seen me out at a few events here and there, smiling and and dressed to the 9's, all that glitters isn't gold.

I have really been in turmoil lately and didn't really know why. After taking a step back I realized that my spiritual life has been seriously lacking. Typically I would wait until the beginning of the year to shrug off the past and start fresh, but today I'm deciding to take that step.

In celebration of my "fresh start" I am putting a new spin on my Fashion to Figure plaid jacket. I am doing a little pattern play and adding my houdstooth FTF pants, a black Talbots button down and a black and white FTF peplum jacket. Rounding out the look I am rocking my new Just Fab pumps, Chico's necklace, Kendra Scott ring and FTF clutch.

What do you think? I hope this look inspires you to step out of the box and play with patterns. I also want to thank you guys for your call, emails & messages and for continuing to support me. Until next time!

See you on the front row!
