ModaMix Blogger Event

Last Friday I popped into the Modamix showroom for a special blogger event. Having recently launched, Modamix is a contemporary, plus size brand that carries sizes 14-28. Exclusively retailed at Macys.com and on their own site, Modamix offers classic silhouettes with updated styling.

Modamix has effectively mastered the art of design and created a collection that is on trend yet not trendy. The pieces are cohesive and can carry over to the next season effortlessly, as well as become staples in your wardrobe for years to come. I had so much fun styling their pieces and fell in love with far too many things. Check out some of my faves and the fun that what was had by all.

See you on the front row!

Indique Soho

As of last week I have been sporting a new Indique Hair look. I decided to switch things up a little bit for the summer and rock a center part and longer fuller curls. Thanks to my friends at Indique I created this look with a 20 inch pure wavy, 20 inch pure curly and a 16 inch pure wavy closure. To add a little more volume, I also added a couple of my older pure wavy bundles in the mix.

While in NYC last week, I popped into Indique Soho to get my curls refreshed. As soon as I hit the door, I was escorted back to an area called The Peacock Lounge. It's basically a little hidden salon behind the boutique. I had the pleasure of having Indique Pro Stylist Joyce to wand me out. We had a blast chatting and she was nice enough to snap a couple of pics.

Having been in NYC for a couple of days by this point was beginning to take a toll on me. My brief reprieve at Indique Soho was so refreshing and just the little bit of calm time I needed to recharge and kick things back into gear. If you are in NYC be sure to check out Indique Soho & The Peacock Lounge. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Arden's Closet Sip & Swap

During FFFWeek,  my local lovelies Nedra Phillips & Nikki P hosted a Sip & Swap in NYC. The concept of this event is amazing. Each guests brings in up to 7 pieces of clothing for the swap and depending on when you arrived you get to shop the swap room and come out with up to 7 pieces of "new" clothing or accessories. Because teamwork is dreamwork, me & Twelve 24 Boutique owners Angela & Melanie jumped in to help our girls as soon as we arrived.

For the swap I decided to rock my new Isabel Toledo scarf from Lane Bryant as a top and my plaid Lane Bryant pants. While in the swap room I ran into ATL thrifter extraordinaire LaQuesha Almond, who was trying to decide between 2 fab pieces. I also won a fabulous dress by designer Wendy Striggles in one of the drawings. Nedra & Nikki usually host a Sip & Swap a few times a year in Atlanta, but they have plans to put the show on the road. I'll be sure to let you know where the next stop will be!

Just My Size Blogger Breakfast

Hey Guys! I'm back from NYC and wanted to catch you up with some of the things I did during FFFWeek. On Thursday morning I had a blast with with my friends at Just My Size. Now I know you typically think of JMS as being undergarments for things a more mature woman would wear, but you couldn't be more wrong. This year JMS is celebrating 30 years of functional fashion and I kicked off my morning chatting with the team and hanging out with my fellow bloggers.

Farrah Estrella, of Estrella Fashion Report,  and I were the first to arrive. We had a blast checking out some of the latest products and taking fun pics with props. Farrah was dressed in all JMS and I chose to put a #ParkerStyle Remix on my Numbered Designs tutu. I'll do a more in depth ootd post a little later.

I had such an amazing time catching up with my fellow bloggers and meeting some of the ones that I admire. I learned all about the direction JMS is going and how it translates to more updated styles and colors. I can't wait to show you the latest innovations and styles they have coming out, but we were sworn to secrecy. In the meantime, check out some of my pics from the event.

See you on the front row-

#FFFWeek VIP Cocktail Party

Thursday night I had the privilege of attending a private party hosted by Gwen Devoe. A select few individuals were chosen to celebrate the self proclaimed Mogul Diva and her last hurrah w/ FFFWeek. For the past couple of months we have all been speculating as to why she would end such an amazing event. Is she sick? Is she dying? Will she be selling the franchise? So many rumors have been circulating and Thursday she cleared the air and put all of those rumors to rest.

Whether you follow her on social media or know her personally, you can ascertain that Gwen is a perfectionist. She wants to produce a quality event that celebrates, inspires and encourages full figured women all over the world to embrace their curves and hold their heads high. When we attend FFFWeek, we see the product of hundreds of man hours of work and thousands of dollars from brands and fundraising. To us as attendees, this is a week of fun to network and view the latest trends in plus size fashion, but to Gwen and her team this is a business.

When any business doesn't perform as anticipated the head has to reevaluate and readjust. Ultimately Gwen decided to stop producing FFFWeek. This decision was not made lightly. Rather than to digress and produce a substandard show, Gwen has decided to end things on top. Just because Devoe Signature Events will not be producing FFFWeek, that doesn't mean that the movement will end. Whether she decides to sell the franchise or begin to produce it again,  trust and believe Gwen Devoe is here to stay. This is not the end of the story, but the beginning of a new chapter for Gwen, and I can't wait to see where she ends up.

Below are some pics from the night's event. Follow me on Instagram for all of the latest at FFFWeek 2014!
