WOW, I can't believe it's April already!!! As expected, March proved to be a very busy me. Check out a few of the things I did last month...
I kicked things off by lounging on the beaches of Maui courtesy of
Brighton Collectibles. As you may remember, I designed a Presidential charm in support of Barack Obama and won their nationwide contest! The grand prize was a trip to our President's home state of Hawaii! While in Maui, I also celebrated my one year Blogiversary. I had such an amazing time relaxing and experiencing the local culture. I noshed on many delectable treats and enjoyed spending time with my mom, who was my guest on the trip.
After getting back in the groove of things, I popped over to
"iwi fresh" for a refreshing "retweet" hosted by blogger buddy
Nikka Shae of Oh!Nikka. I first found out about this Castleberry Hills hidden gem by attending the inaugural edition of the
Chic Boutique Tour. From hand made scrubs and oils, to relaxing massages and pedicures, Iwi Fresh is a smorgasbord of refreshing goodies. It's a great haven to escape a hectic day or a fun place to take over for a pampered girls night out.
With all that pampering, I was able to step into the roll of style judge for the Atlanta's Next Best auditions. Radio and TV personality
Rene Miller annually hosts the competition. Over the course of couple of months, she narrows down a mass of singers and musicians to 1 lucky hopeful who will accompany her to the
St. Lucia Jazz Festival to perform on the International Stage! In addition to embarking on this opportunity of a lifetime, the lucky winner also receives a full photo shoot and a professionally recorded single. I'll be covering the final 2 nights of performances on this one, so stay tuned.
From the judges table, I jumped into the classroom at Google's Atlanta Headquarters for the kick off of the
Powerplug PR Conference. Thanks to my friends at
The Garner Circle, I was able to attend this amazing conference. From maximizing social media to advice on business ethics and best practices, budding publicists and bloggers were endowed with a wealth of valuable information. A couple of the recurring themes throughout the conference were that there is strength in numbers and not to burn bridges either personally or professionally.
Rounding out the month, I stepped out on the town with brand partners Angela Hargo & Melanie Williams of
Twelve 24 Boutique. The lovely Francessa Nelo of
Style by Cesca presented an evening of fun and fashion showcasing the designs of established and budding Atlanta based African Designers. The show was upbeat and elegantly produced to highlight some of the most inspiring designs I have seen all season. I can't wait to see what she has in store for her next fashion showcase.
As you can see, I am a girl on the go. Follow me on
Facebook,
Twitter and
Instagram for real-time updates. Until next time, "Make the world your personal runway and I'll see you on the front row!"
